Mediterranean Inclusive Schools: Dissemination events

The International Research Centre CARDET in collaboration with the “Hope For Children” CRC Policy Centre organized two different dissemination events in order to promote the activities of the MEDIS program.

The two activities took place on the 21st and 28th of June 2018 in Nicosia, Cyprus. The participants attended the events were educators, school teachers (primary and secondary schools), adult educators and school leaders. During the events participants had the opportunity to learn more about the MEDIS program and its objectives, to meet the team and provide their insights in relation to the activities of the first phase of the project.

Έκλεισε ο πρώτος κύκλος μαθημάτων ελληνικής γλώσσας στα σχολεία Δημοτικής Εκπαίδευσης!

Έκλεισε ο πρώτος κύκλος των μαθημάτων ελληνικής γλώσσας, τα οποία παρακολούθησαν μαθητές ΥΤΧ, που φοιτούν στην Πρωτοβάθμια Εκπαίδευση, στο πλαίσιο του έργου ΓΕΙΑ ΧΑΡΑ. Η τελική εξέταση έλαβε χώρα στα τέλη του Ιουνίου, 2017 και τα αποτελέσματα υπήρξαν ιδιαίτερα θετικά. Συγκεκριμένα, περισσότεροι από 240 μαθητές πέρασαν την εξέταση με επιτυχία. Όπως ανέφεραν οι ίδιοι οι μαθητές κατά τη διάρκεια των μαθημάτων είχαν την ευκαιρία να αποκομίσουν πολύτιμες εμπειρίες για την εκμάθηση της ελληνικής γλώσσας και να κοινωνικοποιηθούν μέσα από ομαδικές δραστηριότητες και παιχνίδια.

ΜΑΘΕΤΕ ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΑ ΠΑΙΖΟΝΤΑΣ!

Το ερευνητικό κέντρο CARDET σε συνεργασία με τη συμβουλευτική εταιρεία INNOVADE LI ανέπτυξαν διαδικτυακά παιχνίδια για την εκμάθηση της ελληνικής γλώσσας στο πλαίσιο του έργου ΓΕΙΑ ΧΑΡΑ, το οποίο συντονίζει το Παιδαγωγικό Ινστιτούτο Κύπρου. Τα παιχνίδια αναφέρονται στις δεξιότητες κατανόησης και παραγωγής προφορικού και γραπτού λόγου και περιλαμβάνουν τόσο ασκήσεις γραμματικής, όσο και συντακτικού, ενώ η δομή τους ποικίλλει. Τα εν λόγω παιχνίδια διατίθενται δωρεάν και είναι διαθέσιμα στην ιστοσελίδα του έργου.

Blend-in Second Partner Meeting in MALTA

The second BLEND-IN partner meeting took place in Malta on 22nd June 2017. The highlight of the meeting was that the partners agreed on the mobile application content and format, whereas certain processes were clarified.

It was decided that by December 2017, the mobile application that will serve as an orientation tool for young refugees and migrants, in order to facilitate their integration in the host/ receiving community, will be ready for pre-piloting.

The next partner meeting will be held in Cyprus, in February 2018, where partners will tackle pre-piloting phase issues and discuss on the next steps to take. More news and info on BLEND-IN project website.

Generativity Learning and Training Activities in Syros, Greece

A 5-days training event on PCM (Project Cycle Management) & European funding for the social sector, 12-17 of June 2017, Syros island, Greece.

The event started with testing of module 1 of the training set on PCM, which focuses on giving an overview on the financial and programmatic priorities of the EU2020 strategy within various programs. Main themes of discussion were the areas and priorities for the 7 years mandate of the EU2020 strategy, the structural funds and the funds for direct delivery, overview of the matrix of opportunities available in the 2014-2020 program, with specific attention to the social dimension.

Module 2 focused on the structure of an innovative and sustainable idea according to the principles of PCM. Main issues of discussion were procedures that allow organizations to pass from a project idea to its development into a formal project proposal, the analysis of the logical structure of the project intervention, how to pass from the need analysis to design of the SWOT matrix, the design of the objectives under the SMART matrix and their development into the logical framework to foster an innovative, sustainable and effective project idea.

Module 3 was about building an international, national and local partnership focusing on the differences between implementation and transfer of innovation and mainstreaming and things to consider when building the transnational dimension, such as the geographical balance, homogeneous entities, the allocation of responsibilities and operational management and the very central communication and collaboration aspect, with the related suggested ICT available tool.

Module 4 was dedicated to the submission procedures according to the guidelines of the European Commission: forms and attachments, required documents to be prepared etc.

Module 5 was about implementation, dissemination, valorization and communicative strategies, terms related to concepts that have precise meaning and logical implication within the framework of the development of an effective and sustainable project. Main emphasis was given on tools for monitoring and evaluating the process, the activities and the results. Emphasis was also given on the procedures for the administrative and financial management, to the overview of the eligibility criteria, the estimated budget with attention to the differences between direct costs, indirect costs, other costs and subcontracting rules.

All partners contributed with a constructive dialogue by bringing and sharing expertise and by giving feedback, elements that will contribute to improve the effectiveness of the first module of the training on PCM.

The project dispels the widespread notion that technology is the enemy of reading. In fact, LiRe2.0 is based on the opposite assumption: Innovative use of ICT based, open educational practices and resources that link up informal, non formal, and formal reading/learning, can play a significant role in enchasing people’s reading attitudes, reading engagement, and reading skills; especially in the case of disengaged ore reluctant readers and marginalized learners.
