Grey4Green pilot event at Materia Care Home

Successful Piloting of Grey4Green Project Empowers Senior Citizens for Climate Action

The Grey4Green Project, an innovative initiative focused on promoting active ageing through climate action, celebrated a successful pilot and multiplier event on Thursday, October 31st. Held at Materia Care Home, the event offered seniors a chance to participate in activities centered around nature conservation and sustainable living.

Throughout the event, senior residents engaged in interactive sessions aimed at fostering environmentally friendly lifestyles. Guided by the project’s modules, participants explored meaningful ways to contribute to climate action, all while enhancing their physical and mental well-being. These modules are accessible on the e-learning platform of the project.

The pilot sessions provided residents with valuable insights into sustainable practices, inspiring them to become active contributors to climate resilience within their communities. Grey4Green illustrated the vital role senior citizens can play in climate action, enriching their lives and connecting them to the broader mission of nature conservation—bridging the gap between active ageing and impactful climate advocacy.

UXGE meetings in Spain

UxGE Project Partners and International Youth Leaders Meet in Malaga, Spain

The UxGE Project reached two significant milestones in its mission to build a greener, more sustainable Europe by empowering youth and fostering international collaboration. We are pleased to announce our participation in the International Youth Leaders Meeting and the Mid-Term Coordination Meeting, held from October 20-25 in Malaga, Spain.

International Youth Leaders Meeting

This meeting aimed to equip youth leaders from Spain, Cyprus, Lithuania, Belgium, and Ireland with essential skills and knowledge for effective environmental advocacy. Organized by Asociación Iniciativa Internacional Joven with support from the City Hall of Malaga, the event offered a diverse program of workshops, site visits, and interactive activities.

Participants took part in experiential learning sessions and non-formal education activities, visited Malaga’s Botanical Garden, and met with local environmental groups at City Hall. They also collaborated on designing educational games focused on sustainability and participated in a visibility campaign with the local community to promote environmental responsibility.

Mid-Term Coordination Meeting

The UxGE Project partners convened to review the project’s progress and outline upcoming steps. Key topics included activities planned between November 2024 and August 2025, such as workshops, debates, the creation of participatory proposals, engagement with policymakers, and an upcoming mobility visit to Brussels.

These two events in Malaga offered a unique opportunity for youth leaders and project partners to exchange ideas, deepen their learning, and strengthen collaboration across Europe. With three youth leaders from each partner country who had completed the Online Training Course (OTC), the meetings helped enhance their personal and professional competencies, preparing them to lead workshops within their communities.Find out more about the project on its official website.

HEARD Project Wraps Up in Spain

HEARD Project Wraps Up with a Final Event in Spain

The HEARD project recently concluded with a successful final event in Mislata, Spain. Representatives from nine countries – Slovenia, Portugal, Italy, Sweden, Spain, Greece, Bulgaria, France, and Cyprus – gathered for this milestone event to engage in final discussions and activities.

Held at La Canaleta Park, the event attracted over 500 participants, including members of Mislata’s women’s associations, international project partners, and local authorities. Prominent figures such as Mayor Carlos Fernández Bielsa, Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Equality Policies María Luisa Martínez Mora, and Councillor for European Projects Ximo Moreno were present, alongside city council members. Their participation underscored the importance of cross-border cooperation to address pandemic-related challenges, particularly in supporting women’s rights and promoting gender equality.

Our team was honored to play a key role, presenting insights from Cyprus on best practices and challenges faced during the pandemic, with a focus on democracy, human rights, and the balance between women’s work and personal lives. This contribution enriched the dialogue, offering a comparative perspective based on the Cypriot experience.

Over the past two years, the HEARD project has been dedicated to engaging EU citizens in democratic processes, encouraging their involvement in shaping public policies that address their real needs. The initiative fostered an exchange of ideas on the gendered impacts of the health crisis, with the goal of supporting a more inclusive and equitable response across Europe.

TUA piloting e-learning platform for Young People with Mental Disabilities

TUA project pilots the “Express Yourself” E-learning Platform for Young People with Mental Disabilities

The TUA project successfully implemented a pilot session of the “Express Yourself” e-learning platform, in collaboration with the Toxotis Foundation.

During the pilot session, participants had the opportunity to explore the e-learning platform and navigate its various tools. The professionals engaged in a hands-on walkthrough of the Training Programme, which is available in an interactive format directly on the platform. This experience allowed them to see how the platform can serve as a valuable resource for enhancing the support they provide.

Meanwhile, the young participants were encouraged to engage with the “Share Your Artwork” section of the platform. This feature allows them to take photos of their creations, upload them, and include their names, titles, and descriptions of their work. This section not only serves as a creative outlet but also fosters a sense of pride and ownership in their artistic expression.

Feedback from all participants was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the user-friendly nature and potential impact of the platform. Additionally, they provided insightful suggestions for further improvement, which will be used to refine the platform before its official launch.

The TUA project partners are hopeful that, following the incorporation of feedback and finalization of the platform, the “Express Yourself” e-learning platform will become a valuable tool for young people with mental disabilities, as well as for the professionals and organizations that support them. The platform aims to empower these individuals, offering them an inclusive space to learn, express themselves, and grow.Find out more about the TUA “Express Yourself” platform, here.
