A learning activity on new pathways of youth to labour market through lifestyle self-employment

CARDET hosted the SELF-E learning activity that took place in Cyprus between 7th – 11th of October 2019 with the participation of 17 participants from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Lithuania and Poland. During the learning activity, representatives of the participating organizations had the opportunity to explore and be trained in the material developed by the consortium to help them support disadvantaged youth.

The training activity revolved around SELF-E’s three main intellectual outputs: a toolkit for youth workers, a set of practical exercises and an assessment tool for validation of competence. Featuring various presentations and hands-on group and individual exercises, it sought to help participants – youth workers, advisors and trainers- get acquainted with the tools and be in a position to expertly use them as part of their work.

The SELF-E program is now entering its implementation phase, through which it is expected to contribute in increasing the capacity of youth workers in providing self-employment training for youth with fewer opportunities helping them increase their level of competence by at least 40%.
