GoSport: Promoting good governance in sports through social responsibility

GoSport is a European project aiming to encourage social inclusion and equal opportunities by improving good governance in sports. In order to contribute to the improvement of good governance in sports organizations in Greece, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus and Italy, GoSport aims at:​

  • Enhancing the capacities and awareness of sports clubs/organizations, professional and semi-professional sports teams and clubs on implementing good governance principles through social responsibility, focusing on participation and inclusivity irrespective of gender, race, disability or age, and the promotion of human rights.
  • Improving knowledge on how sports organizations interpret, manage and prioritize social responsibility issues – especially in terms of combating violence, tackling racism, discrimination and intolerance, and encouraging social inclusion and equal opportunities –, how organizational governance influences social responsibility and how social responsibility is communicated within the organizations.
  • Providing tools to sports organizations and professionals for understanding the relationships among the organizations, its stakeholders and society, and integrating socially responsible organizational governance practices.
  • Promoting the participation and inclusivity principles in sports through responsibility.

INITIATION – Fostering green social innovation and social entrepreneurship in school education

Under the guidance of the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Peloponnese, CARDET, in collaboration with other organizations and schools in Greece, Cyprus, Italy and Estonia, announces the launch of the project ” INITIATION – Fostering green social innovation and social entrepreneurship in school education”. The project aims to cultivate the social innovation and social entrepreneurship mind-set of students to be more community oriented and to participate actively in the design of solutions to environmental problems faced by their local communities, and it will engage high school students and teachers.

The first meeting of the project team was attended by representatives from all partner organizations, as presented below:

  1. Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Peloponnese – Greece
  2. Institouto Technologias Ypologiston Kai Ekdoseon Diofantos – Greece
  3. University of Patras – Greece
  4. Centro per lo sviluppo creative Danilo Dolci – Ιtaly
  5. Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche – Istituto per le Tecnologie Didattiche – Italy
  6. Vandra Gymnasium – Estonia
  7. Center for Advancement of Research and Development in Educational Technology Ltd (CARDET) – Cyprus
  8. The Junior and Senior School (TJSS) – Cyprus

The INITIATION program will take place of a period of 30 months, and it is coordinated by the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Peloponnese.

Offering full scholarships for the online accredited programme “Award in NGO Management”

Advenio eAcademy in collaboration with SOS Malta and CARDET are offering a limited number of full scholarships for the Erasmus+ co-funded programme “Award in NGO Management”

The Award in NGO Management is an online accredited programme designed to assist Voluntary Organisation officers and staff in meeting the challenges of managing a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO). It seeks to provide in a concise format the knowledge and know how to assist them in strengthening their skills and competences. This programme will enable NGOs to upskill and develop their management capacity, to increase their social impact, achieve their goals, and be sustainable over time. It provides details of core concepts and theories that apply and most importantly, it offers a pragmatic perspective for their implementation within the NGO environment.


The programme includes five modules and will be conducted in English:

  • Award in Meeting Key NGO Challenges (NGO Management)
  • Award in Fundamentals of Management (NGO Management)
  • Award in Fundamentals of Campaigning and Marketing (NGO Management)
  • Award in Fundamentals of Human Resources Management (NGO Management)
  • Award in Fundamentals of Financial Management(NGO Management)

*Participants will be accredited with EQF Level 5 (10 ECTS credits) following the successful completion of the programme.

Entry Requirements:

EQF/MQF Level 4 or equivalent certificate

AND

Students whose first language is not English and whose previous qualifications were in a language other than English will have to produce evidence of IELTS level 5 results, or equivalent

AND

Basic IT literacy in using Microsoft packages

Note: Prospective students over the age of 25 can apply without a level 4 diploma as long as they provide evidence in a CV and a work reference that they can make up for it through relevant VO/NGO work experience (at least 2 years’ experience, full-time/4 years part-time in a relevant VO/NGO ).

A limited number of scholarship places are available on the two intakes of the programme that will run in 2022.

  • Intake 1 commences on Mon 04/04/2022
  • Intake 2 commences on Mon 02/05/2022

Το έργο GRETA είναι ένα καινοτόμο εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα που χρηματοδοτείται από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση (Erasmus+). Και ναι, το όνομα του έργου επιλέχθηκε ως φόρος τιμής στην Greta Thunberg, τη σουηδή έφηβη που ενέπνευσε ένα διεθνές κίνημα για την καταπολέμηση της κλιματικής αλλαγής. Το έργο διαρκεί 24 μήνες και επικεντρώνεται σε θέματα κλιματικής αλλαγής.
