We invite you to participate in the international conference 10th Innovative Learning Environments 2017, focusing on the theme of Adult Education Policy and Practice: Gamification, Entrepreneurship Education, and Education Policies. The conference will be held on October 12-13, 2017 in Nicosia, Cyprus. The conference is organized by the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture (European & International Affairs Office), the international research and development center CARDET (Centre for the Advancement of Research and Development in Educational Technology), and the International Council for Educational Media.

This is the first call for papers for the ILE2017 conference. Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of an extended abstract, which should be submitted online through the “Submit your Abstract” link on the conference website.

Ο ερευνητικός οργανισμός CARDET σας προσκαλεί να συμμετέχετε στο εργαστήριο με τίτλο “Καταπολεμώντας τον εκφοβισμό” που θα διοργανωθεί τη Δευτέρα 12/06/2017 και ώρα 11:00- 12:30 στο Πανεπιστήμιο Λευκωσίας, αίθουσα M115.

ο εργαστήριο απευθύνεται σε εκπαιδευτικούς, σχολικό προσωπικό, διευθυντές, φοιτητές και γονείς και έχει ως στόχο την ενημέρωση τους για δωρεάν εργαλεία, πηγές και υλικό για μαθήματα τα οποία είναι άμεσα διαθέσιμα.

Κατά τη διάρκεια του εργαστηρίου θα γίνει παρουσίαση του ευρωπαϊκού προγράμματος «Καταπολεμώντας τον Εκφοβισμό: Ένα Ολιστικό Σχολικό Πρόγραμμα» και της διαδικτυακής πλατφόρμας του έργου. Οι συμμετέχοντες θα εισαχθούν στο υλικό το οποίο θα δοθεί σε αυτούς, όπως σχέδια μαθήματος, δραστηριότητες για τον εκφοβισμό, διαδικτυακά μαθήματα για γονείς, εκπαιδευτικούς και διευθυντές και άλλα, τα οποία είναι έτοιμα για αξιοποίηση στα ελληνικά και σε πέντε άλλες γλώσσες. Τέλος, θα ενημερωθούν για το πώς μπορούν να έχουν στήριξη από το CARDET για την υλοποίηση δράσεων στα σχολεία τους.

Οι συμμετέχοντες θα λάβουν πιστοποιητικό παρακολούθησης με τη λήξη του εργαστηρίου.

Epsilon Project at the Cyprus Pride March 2017

Over 6000 people marched on Sunday 28th of May at the fourth Pride Parade in Nicosia, waving hundreds of rainbow flags and supporting this year’s slogan #SpeakLove. Cardet participated in the Cyprus Pride 2017 in the framework of ‘Epsilon’ Project, one of the most prominent LGTBI-led projects in the island which aims at improving the lives of LGBTI refugees and migrants.

People who visited our booth were informed about the objectives and all the work outcomes of the project, while sharing their messages of love, tolerance and acceptance.

We would like to congratulate Accept LGTB Cyprus for all their efforts in organizing yet another successful Pride and to thank them for hosting us.

Μετά από τις ενημερωτικές συναντήσεις για τη lifestyle επιχειρηματικότητα, ο ερευνητικός οργανισμός CARDET διοργανώνει τριήμερο σεμινάριο κατάρτισης για το εκπαιδευτικό πρόγραμμα του Ευρωπαϊκού προγράμματος ACE – Lifestyle Entrepreneurship.

Το τριήμερο σεμινάριο κατάρτισης θα διεξαχθεί στις 14, 15 και 16 Ιουνίου, από τις 9.30 π.μ. μέχρι τις 14.00μ.μ., στο Πανεπιστήμιο Λευκωσίας, Αίθουσα Α20. The Research and Development Centre CARDET is pleased to invite you to the International Conference of the Identity and Diversity Picture Book Collection project (IDPBC) entitled ‘Social identities and multiculturalism: The role of literacies and multilingualism in evolving societies’.

The conference focuses on the importance of literacies, and especially picture-books, in positively affecting pre-primary and primary school students, who feel – or are considered to be – “different” from the majority.

The conference will be held on June 30, 2017 at the University of Nicosia, in Nicosia, Cyprus. The language of the Conference will be English and workshops in Greek and in English will follow. The participation to the conference is free and all participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.

Ένα νέο εργαλείο καταπολέμησης του σχολικού εκφοβισμού είναι πλέον διαθέσιμο προς όλους!
Η Εφαρμογή Κινητών Τηλεφώνων ComBuS είναι ένα νέο, πρωτοποριακό εργαλείο, το οποίο μπορεί να συμβάλει στην καταπολέμηση του σχολικού εκφοβισμού. Διατίθεται δωρεάν και δίνει τη δυνατότητα σε εκπαιδευτικούς, διευθυντές, σχολικό προσωπικό, γονείς και μαθητές να έχουν πρόσβαση σε οδηγίες, συμβουλές και πόρους του εγχειριδίου εν κινήσει. Η συγκεκριμένη εφαρμογή παρέχει ενημερωτικό και εκπαιδευτικό υλικό, καθώς επίσης και κατευθυντήριες οδηγίες υποστήριξης συνομηλίκων (peer to peer support) για γονείς και μαθητές αντίστοιχα. Επιπλέον, η Εφαρμογή Κινητών Τηλεφώνων ComBuS είναι συμβατή με όλες τις διαδικτυακές πλατφόρμες κινητής τηλεφωνίας.

Η εν λόγω εφαρμογή για κινητά τηλέφωνα αποτελεί μέρος του Εγχειριδίου ComBuS, το οποίο αποτελείται από οδηγίες, πόρους και δραστηριότητες που βοηθούν στην ενημέρωση και την ευαισθητοποίηση αναφορικά με τον σχολικό εκφοβισμό. Στόχος του Εγχειριδίου ComBuS είναι να συμβάλλει στο να αναγνωριστεί, να αναφερθεί και να αντιμετωπιστεί το πρόβλημα του εκφοβισμού στα σχολεία πρωτοβάθμιας και δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης στην Ευρώπη. Το Εγχειρίδιο περιλαμβάνει δραστηριότητες και εκπαιδευτικούς πόρους που απευθύνονται σε διευθυντές σχολείων, εκπαιδευτικούς, υποστηρικτικό προσωπικό, μαθητές και γονείς. Διατίθεται μέσω της ιστοσελίδας του έργου ComBuS και λειτουργεί ως «Σταθμός Ενιαίας Εξυπηρέτησης» για όλους τους εμπλεκόμενους στη σχολική κοινότητα που επιθυμούν να λάβουν υποστήριξη και καθοδήγηση για την αντιμετώπιση του εκφοβισμού στο σχολείο τους.

Το Εγχειρίδιο αυτό, βασισμένο στα ευρήματα εκτενούς έρευνας ανάλυσης αναγκών και βιβλιογραφικής επισκόπησης, περιλαμβάνει πηγές βέλτιστης πρακτικής που είναι κατάλληλες για όλα τα μέλη της σχολικής κοινότητας. Ενδεικτικά, συμπεριλαμβάνονται υποδείγματα σχεδίου μαθήματος για ενδοσχολικές και εξωσχολικές δραστηριότητες, ενότητες μεικτής μάθησης για σχολικούς διευθυντές, εκπαιδευτικούς και γονείς, κατευθυντήριες οδηγίες με σκοπό την αλληλοϋποστήριξη των μαθητών και εργαλεία και ρουμπρίκες αξιολόγησης για εκπαιδευτικούς, ώστε να αξιολογήσουν την αποτελεσματικότητα του Εγχειριδίου ComBuS στην καταπολέμηση του εκφοβισμού στα σχολεία τους.

Σχετικά με το έργο “Combat Bullying: A Whole School Program”

Το ComBus είναι ένα ολιστικό σχολικό πρόγραμμα που αναπτύχθηκε με σκοπό την ενδυνάμωση μαθητών, δασκάλων, σχολικού προσωπικού, σχολικών διευθυντών και γονέων, ώστε να καταπολεμήσουν αποτελεσματικά τον εκφοβισμό και να δημιουργήσουν υγιείς και ασφαλείς σχολικές κοινότητες. Το έργο ComBuS χρηματοδοτείται από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος Justice.

Υπό την αιγίδα του ερευνητικού οργανισμού CARDET, το έργο ComBuS εφαρμόζεται σε όλη την Ευρώπη μέσω της υποστηρικτικής ομάδας 6 εταίρων, κρατών μελών της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης: ITC (Ισπανία), UPIT & GIE (Ρουμανία), ΚΜΟΠ (Ελλάδα), FORIUM (Ιταλία) και Meath Partnership (Ιρλανδία).

Στο πλαίσιο του έργου ΓΕΙΑ ΧΑΡΑ, το οποίο προσφέρει μαθήματα εκμάθησης της ελληνικής γλώσσας σε ανήλικους ΥΤΧ, έχει αναπτυχθεί σχετικό υλικό που περιλαμβάνει μία μεγάλη ποικιλία διαδραστικών γλωσσικών δραστηριοτήτων και παιχνιδιών για δύο γλωσσικά επίπεδα. Το εν λόγω υλικό είναι πλέον προσβάσιμο ηλεκτρονικά μέσω της εφαρμογής του έργου, η οποία είναι διαθέσιμη σε Android συσκευές. Επιπλέον, στην εφαρμογή μπορείτε να ενημερωθείτε για τους φορείς υλοποίησης του έργου, το χρονοδιάγραμμα του έργου, τις συνεργαζόμενες σχολικές μονάδες, όπως, επίσης και την ύλη που καλύπτουν τα μαθήματα.

INTEGR8 aims to develop training materials and resources which will develop skills of migrant women so that they can be leaders of integration in their communities.

Working in partnership with local migrant support agencies, education providers, migrant women’s networks and migrant women individually, project partners will develop a suite of training materials and will deliver this training locally between now and when the project comes to an end in December 2018.

The BLEND-IN project is a 24-months-project aiming to prepare and empower one of the most vulnerable groups of our times, young migrants & refugees, seeking a better life in an EU host/ receiving country. The ultimate objective of the project is to facilitate their smooth cultural and social integration in the host/ receiving community. As refugee and migrant integration is a two-way process, involving both refugees and the receiving societies, the project also addresses youth social workers and operators.

BLEND-IN partners plan to develop two main resources in the course of the project: a mobile application, addressing young refugees and migrants’ needs during their early days in a host/ receiving country and a handbook for operators with good practices towards the successful integration of young refugees and migrants.

The first BLEND-IN partner meeting took place in Modena, Italy, from the 12th until the 13th January 2017. The consortium of 7 European organizations from 5 different countries, i.e.: ANS – Italy (Leading Partner); CALEIDOS – Italy; KMOP – Greece; EEO – Greece; FSM – Malta; CARDET – Cyprus; and CWC – UK, gathered together for the first time to discuss aspects of the early stages of the project, such as the guidelines and deadlines for the desk and field research.

After the closure of the meeting, partners were guided to an Italian centre for asylum seekers, where they experienced the life of young asylum seekers during their first few weeks in the host community and services provided by our Italian partners. An exchange of best practices took place, as two young asylum seekers and their teachers/ supporters introduced BLEND IN partners to the context of young asylum seekers’ everydayness in the particular centre.

The next meeting will take place in Malta, in June 2017, where following the joint report and the detection of the early days’ needs of young refugees and migrants in a host/ receiving community, aspects of the development of the mobile application will be discussed.

Urbagri4Women Kick-off Meeting, Perugia, Italy

Urbagri4Women is a European 24-months project funded by the European Commission Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) [Project Number: HOME_2015_AMIF_AG_INTE_9098]. It aims to foster the integration of migrant women, including asylum seekers and beneficiaries of international protection in the host society, enabling them to develop innovative and subsistence agricultural initiatives that contributes to urban rehabilitation.

Let by TAMAT – Italy, this project gathers together 7 organisations from 7 European countries: AIDGLOBAL – Portugal; AMSED – France; CARDET – Cyprus; GYROS – England; IED – Greece; and Südwind – Austria. The Urbagri4women consortium aspires to implement several initiatives promoting the integration of migrant women in these 7 European countries, in the absence of an effective policy of inclusion of migrants in the EU.

In the kick-off meeting in Perugia, Italy, between 1st – 4th March 2017, partners planned the six main activities they will focus on between December 2016 – November 2018:

  • 7 Urban Agriculture Labs
  • 21 Focus Groups with regional communities with specific know-how
  • Transnational Workshop of Good Practices in Strasbourg, France
  • Transnational Gardening Contest
  • Green Paper and Manifesto on the integration of migrant women
  • Final Conference in Lisbon, Portugal

The next partner meeting will take place in Bologna, in early September 2017.
