CARDET through SportGVP Project at the MOVE Congress 2025: Standing Against Violence in Sport

CARDET proudly participated in the MOVE Congress 2025, one of the largest international gatherings, organised by the International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA) and DGI, dedicated to promoting recreational sport, community well-being, and health-enhancing physical activity. Held at the Tivoli Congress Center in Copenhagen, the event brought together more than 900 professionals from across the globe, representing the NGO, health, sport, education, urban planning, environment, and policy sectors.

As part of the Sport GVP project, CARDET joined the session titled “Breaking the Silence: Preventing Violence in Sport”, which spotlighted initiatives and best practices aimed at creating safer, more inclusive, and respectful sporting environments. This powerful session underscored the importance of education, awareness, and collaborative action in tackling all forms of violence in sport.

Through its involvement, CARDET reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the objectives of the Sport GVP project, a comprehensive European initiative working to prevent and address gender-based violence in and through sport. The project’s multifaceted approach seeks to generate evidence and knowledge on the prevalence and forms of gender-based violence, while paving the way for concrete responses and sustainable prevention measures.

By engaging in the MOVE Congress, CARDET continues to promote respect, integrity, equality, and well-being for all athletes and communities, contributing to the wider European effort to combat violence, discrimination, and intolerance in sport.
