The WESTART! project has successfully completed its first intellectual output, the Guide. The “Guide” of WESTART! is a research paper which aims to provide the general public and the partnership consortium with valuable information regarding the use of electronic media by women at the age of 25 to 40, the target group of the project.
The research was carried out during 2019 in Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Austria, Germany and Romania, and involved 25 women in total. The partnership used a combination of quantitative questionnaires for institutions, semi qualitative guided interviews with learners as well as a collection of good practices and the minutes and comments of the Territorial Working Groups installed in each partner country and used as a sounding board and extra source of expertise for the project.
The main results of this research showed that despite the availability of electronic media in general is quite impressive, the distribution of electronic devices is rather uneven and seems to reflect the economic status of the participating countries.
The Guide is available in English, Greek, Italian, German and Romanian here.
The WESTART! project is being implemented in Cyprus by the Centre for the Advancement of Research & Development in Educational Technology (CARDET) and it is aligned with the Centre’s mission to promote gender equality and social justice in the Cypriot society.
