SOCI@LL: Implementation of peer learning events in Cyprus
On January 14 and February 26, CARDET held two peer learning sessions at the Elementary School of Ergates. The purpose of the sessions was to present the objectives and priorities of the SOCI@LL project and to initiate a discussion on the purpose of an inclusive education system in Cyprus and the EU.
During the event, the school teachers had the opportunity to discuss the structure and content of the toolkits SOCI@LL has developed for leaders and teachers. The toolkits serve as guiding resources to promote inclusiveness and collaboration and foster innovation, multicultural learning and civic participation in schools.
The toolkit for leaders presents a model inclusive school based on four pillars: visibility, empowerment, inclusion and cooperation (based on the model of a multicultural library by Maja Branka and Dominika Cieślikowska).
The toolkit for teachers explores ways to drive and apply educational innovation and foster multicultural learning in and out classrooms with the use of guidelines, a manual and a set of supporting resources.
