Free Digital Learning Resources Updated Catalogue – MOOCS4Inclusion
The third round of initiatives have been included in the online catalogue of the MOOCs4Inclusion study. This study is supported by the Directorate General Joint Research Centre (DG JRC) of the European Commission is coordinated by CARDET.
In the updated catalogue, we include new initiatives offering free digital learning opportunities for the inclusion of migrants and refugees. One of the basic aims of the study is to support learning via the use of electronic devices, such as laptops and smartphones, by showcasing a number of free digital learning materials (online courses, apps, games etc.). The online catalogue offers free access to more than 100 initiatives which vary in their scope and objectives. The list of initiatives has been categorized according to specific criteria allowing users to search using specific queries. Most of the initiatives have been developed in a multimedia and interactive format, they are free and easily accessible online. For example, under the category “Teacher Training” users can find initiatives, such as “E–EVALINTO: Evaluation Environment for fostering Intercultural Mentoring Tools and Practices at School” which offers a free self-paced online course on intercultural mentoring. Under the category “Other purpose” users can come across the game “Frontiers you have reached fortress Europe” which provides players experiences that are related to political matters of migration and refugees. The new updated catalogue will be showcased at CARDET’s 11th Annual Innovative Learning Environments conference with theme Social Inclusion and New Technologies on 25/10/2018.
