Translator/Copy Editor

  • Responsible for the daily translation of written content from English to Greek (primarily) and vice versa
  • Ensure the meaning, tone, and context of all materials are preserved across languages
  • Provide final proofreading & quality assurance of deliverables for grammar, consistency, formatting and clarity
  • Review and proofread various types of content in both Greek and English (such as newsletters, publications, news items, reports, policy briefs, educational materials)
  • Provide suggestions for improving the quality of written materials (writing style, structure, and language)
  • Create and maintain glossaries or term dictionaries
  • Ensure all translated and edited materials meet quality standards and deadlines
  • Collaborate closely with Researchers/Managers to ensure all written outputs (reports, policy briefs, training materials, newsletters) meet high linguistic and professional standards.
  • Collaborate and support other teams to ensure high quality and editorial standards
  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Philology, or a related field. ● A Masters and/or PhD would be considered an asset.
  • Proven experience in translation and/or copy editing, ideally within EU-funded projects, education, or professional publishing environments.
  • Fluency in English and Greek.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and prioritise effectively.
  • Strong collaboration skills and willingness to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Resilience and agility
  • Familiarity with EU project terminology or sectors such as education, social sciences or digital innovation is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with translation tools or editing platforms is a plus.
