BAS Project Successfully Concludes its Journey to Enhance Digital Business Attraction Skills in the Public Sector

We are pleased to announce that the BAS Project (Developing Digital Business Attraction Skills through Continuing Vocational Education and Training (VET) at Work in the Local Public Sector) is officially concluding its mission on January 31st, 2025. Over the past few years, the BAS Project has been instrumental in transforming the capabilities of local public sector employees, equipping them with essential digital business attraction skills to drive economic growth and innovation within their communities.

A Transformative Initiative for the Public Sector

The BAS Project was designed to address skill gaps in the public sector by delivering continuous vocational education and training (VET). It focused on enhancing digital competencies, enabling local governments to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital economy. This initiative underscored the critical role of public sector professionals in fostering an environment that supports business development and innovation.

Key Features of the BAS Project

The BAS Project achieved its mission through the development of innovative tools and training programs:

  • Training Needs Mapping and Analysis Report: This foundational report identified skill gaps and best practices across diverse countries, including England, Croatia, Sweden, Italy, Greece, and Germany.
  • Toolbox on Business Attraction Management: A practical resource for organizing and managing business attraction efforts, offering strategies to engage stakeholders and drive investment.
  • E-Course on Digital Business Attraction Skills: An online course divided into two modules:
    • Team and Local Partnership Building Processes: Focused on building effective teams and fostering local partnerships.
    • Digital Business Attraction and Soft Landing Strategies: Explored leveraging digital tools to attract businesses and ensure smooth integration into local economies.

Access Free Resources

As part of its legacy, the BAS Project makes its rich library of resources freely available to public sector professionals, VET providers, and municipal civil servants.
