CARDET Receives European Recognition for Digital Wellbeing, Reinforcing Its Commitment to Wellbeing in Education

The All Digital Awards 2026 recognise CARDET’s contribution to digital wellbeing and highlight its wider work to promote wellbeing, resilience and professional development across educational communities in Europe.
European recognition for digital wellbeing
CARDET has received European recognition for its work in digital wellbeing, with Dr Charalambos Vrasidas, Executive Director of CARDET, selected as the winner of the Digital Wellbeing category at the All Digital Awards 2026. Dr Vrasidas received the award on behalf of the organisation and its team during the ceremony in Belgrade, Serbia.
The award acknowledges CARDET’s contribution to digital inclusion, education and a more responsible digital future. It reflects the organisation’s commitment to placing human wellbeing at the centre of education and technological development.
For CARDET, wellbeing is an integral part of quality education. Its work addresses digital wellbeing, mental health, online safety and responsible digital citizenship, while also supporting the conditions that enable educational communities to thrive.
Advancing wellbeing across educational communities
CARDET’s commitment extends across different dimensions of wellbeing, recognising that learners and educators need supportive environments, opportunities for development and approaches informed by evidence and practice.
The European Teacher Wellbeing & Career Observatory (TWCO) is one example of this work. The pan-European initiative focuses on teacher wellbeing and career development, examining the factors that shape teachers’ professional experiences and supporting a stronger evidence base for their wellbeing and career progression.
Other initiatives address complementary aspects of wellbeing. Through Thriving Schools, CARDET supports a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing. PERMA Digital explores wellbeing in digital education, while Digital Harmony promotes healthy digital behaviours and online safety.
In Cyprus, CARDET’s collaboration with UNICEF and the Ministry of Health on Supporting Mental Health Resilience among Youth in Cyprus further demonstrates its commitment to promoting mental health and resilience among young people.
A shared commitment to wellbeing
Together, these initiatives reflect CARDET’s broader approach to wellbeing: connecting research, collaboration and practical interventions to respond to the evolving needs of learners, teachers and communities.
The Digital Wellbeing award recognises Dr Vrasidas’s contribution and the collective efforts of the CARDET team and its partners. It reinforces the importance of human-centred approaches as digital technologies and educational systems continue to evolve.
