CARDET Represents Youth Voices from Cyprus at the Choose Life European Roundtable in Brussels

Young people’s recommendations on well-being, drug prevention, and inclusive policies take centre stage in European dialogue.
CARDET participated in the Choose Life European Roundtable, held in Brussels on 13 October 2026, bringing together young people and stakeholders to exchange perspectives on youth well-being, drug prevention, and the development of more inclusive policies.
Representing Cyprus, Charitini, a member of the project’s Youth-Choose Council (YCC), presented the Cyprus Youth Manifesto, a document developed through the active participation and contributions of young people throughout the Choose Life project. The Manifesto reflects young people’s perspectives, experiences, and recommendations for creating healthier, safer, and more inclusive communities.
During her presentation, Charitini outlined key recommendations at local, educational, and European levels. These focused on strengthening drug prevention through education, promoting psychosocial well-being, ensuring access to appropriate support services, and enhancing the meaningful participation of young people in decisions that directly affect their lives.
The roundtable provided an important opportunity to bring young people’s perspectives into the European policy dialogue and highlight the value of youth participation in shaping effective and inclusive responses to the challenges they face.
Through its involvement in Choose Life, CARDET continues to support youth empowerment and participation, recognising young people as active contributors to policy development and positive change in their communities.
