NO2

(Nitrogen (di)oxide)

It is an irritant highly reactive gas. NO2 gets in the air from the burning of fuel and reacts in the atmosphere to form ozone and acid rain. It refers to a family of gases that includes nitrogen oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). The brown haze sometimes seen over cities is mainly nitrogen oxides.

Health Effects

Increases of respiratory problems

Reduces immunity to lung infections due to the inflammation of lining the lungs

Causes problems such as wheezing, coughing, colds, flu and bronchitis.
