Vocational Training Programs for persons with international protection status
The International Research Center CARDET in cooperation with INNOVADE has been granted with the project “Vocational Training Programs for persons with international protection status”. The project was awarded to the consortium following an open call for proposals from the Asylum Service of the Ministry of Interior under the European Refugee Fund, as part of the Solidarity Funds.
The objective of the project is to support persons with international protection status to be successfully integrated in the local Cyprus labor market and the local society through vocational training programs. In the context of the Vocational Training Programs, CARDET and INNOVADE will develop 5 courses on 5 different thematic units, which will focus on: a) Basic computer skills, b) Office Management, c) Business Management and Social Entrepreneurship, d) Techniques to access labor market, and e) Train the Trainer. In addition, there is the possibility of offering training on other labor sectors, based on the informal needs assessment and focus groups, which will be conducted prior to the development of the courses.
The development of the Vocational Training Programs for Persons with International Protection Status is co-funded by the European Integration Fund (75%) and the Republic of Cyprus (25%) and will be completed by the end of June 2011.
