Duties and Responsibilities of the role

  • Strategic Project Planning: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with the centre’s research goals.
  • Stakeholder Analysis: Identify and assess the needs of internal and external stakeholders to ensure consistent communication and expectations management.
  • Project Mapping: Create and maintain project maps and update Gantt charts to visually represent project timelines, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Team Coordination: Direct and synchronize cross-functional teams, ensuring clear role definitions, task assignments, and cohesive effort towards project deliverables.
  • Partner Collaboration: Liaise and coordinate with external partners, ensuring alignment in objectives, timelines, and resources.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly review project progress, ensuring timely completion and adherence to the established parameters. Conduct project evaluations and recommend improvements.
  • Risk Management: Predict potential pitfalls, devise mitigation strategies, and adapt plans as necessary to address challenges.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Regularly update stakeholders through formal reports, maintain comprehensive project documentation, and ensure all processes are transparent and traceable.
  • Feedback Loop: Facilitate regular review meetings with stakeholders and teams to gather feedback, reassess priorities, and refine project strategies as required.
  • Project deliverables. Develop reports, project outputs, training material, and dissemination activities.
  • Travel abroad for project meetings, events, and conferences.


  • Degree in a related field. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Research Management, or a related field will be considered as an asset.
  • Professional certification, such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2, will be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing research or similar complex projects, emphasizing planning, execution, and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrable experience of using project management tools / platforms for managing multiple projects.
  • Demonstrable knowledge in various project management methods (e.g. Agile, Prince2, PMI, etc.)
  • Proven track record of successful project implementation
